A Chipmunk sits on top of a barrel cactus. I see it almost
every time I climb Camelback now and assume
it is the same one.
When I try to get close to get a good picture, it climbs down. Camelback Mountain,

7/24/04 - The Co-operative Chipmunk
This guy was very cooperative and stayed put eating the cactus buds. This is looking down the hill at the golf course, with a 10X zoom lense.
Once I actually had two cacti lined up, each with a chipmunk on top, but then the 2nd chipmunk jumped off before I was ready.
These guys must really love those cactus buds! Notice the fat cheeks. I've never seen chipmunks climb onto cacti before.
